Summary:
BASEM and USEMS are pleased to invite applicants for the 2019/2020 Undergraduate SEM Elective Award. There are 3 awards of £500 available to assist members of your society to undertake an elective related to sport or exercise medicine. Application Deadline: 5pm on Friday 12th July 2019 Applications should be submitted at https://basem.co.uk/…/basem-undergraduate-sem-elective-awa…/ and should include the following: An introductory letter explaining the subject to be studied and reasons for study, the Centre(s) to be visited and the proposed itinerary. This should also include an explanation of how it is SEM related, what you will gain from it and how it will enhance your career. Please also include an estimation of the costs involved. A letter from the applicant’s medical school confirming the dates of the elective period. A letter from the elective hosts confirming the placement. A brief up-to-date curriculum vitae, including all necessary contact details (postal address, telephone number and email address). The student must submit an article at the end of the project reflecting their experience for publication in BASEM Today/BASEM and BJSM blogs. There are a few application criteria to make you aware of: The applicant should be an undergraduate studying a health care related course at a UK university in good standing. The applicant must have been an undergraduate student member of BASEM for at least 2 months prior to the application closing date. The applicant must not miss any mandatory university teaching to undertake their elective without prior authorization. The applicant must plan to undertake a minimum of four weeks in an elective related to SEM between 1/9/19 and 1/9/20 We look forward to reading applications from your society and good luck!

The applicant must have been an undergraduate student member of BASEM for at least 2 months prior to the application closing date. The applicant must not miss any mandatory university teaching to undertake their elective without prior authorization. The applicant must plan to undertake a minimum of four weeks in an elective related to SEM between 1/9/19 and 1/9/20
