Can I influence what is said about me on my Badge?
No. Supervisors agree to fill out the Digital Badge framework in a fair & honest manner. Your opinion does not influence what is and isn't on a badge. It is up to you to build a good working relationship with your supervisor(s) & show off your talents!
Are all projects able to get a Badge?
Many opportunities aren't suitable for Badges. Some short tasks & tasks which don't involve independent thinking, innovation or a lot of organisation wouldn't be appropriate. For example filling in a survey or being part of a clinical study. Independent approval may come from an academic librarian, faculty champion, a member of the careers team or other! You can ask your subject lead what the policy is for your faculty. As such there is no guarantee of a badge. However, most projects which apply for Badges will get them granted.
Aren't Digital Badges a bit 'Mickey Mouse'?
On the contrary, digital Badges are very transparent & open. They are signed off by your supervisor & then reviewed & approved by a member of staff. By signing a badge your supervisor is giving his/her feedback in a fair & honest manner, they are only as "mickey mouse" as your task! Depending on your subject, independent approval may come from an academic librarian, faculty champion, a member of the careers team or other! You can ask your subject lead what the policy is for your faculty.
